A new bridge, a bit of track realignment, and a new pathway are all designed to enhance the cycling experience of users of Tasman’s Great Taste Trail near Richmond.

The coastal section of the trail near McPherson Stream is prone to flooding during spring tides and is also subject to erosion.

Thanks to an agreement with an adjacent landowner, we’ve been able to make improvements to the area to get around the problems.

A new bridge has been constructed and the track has been moved to slightly higher ground.

It has also allowed us to build a new pathway to link Tasman’s Great Taste Trail directly to McPherson Street.

A landscape planting programme is planned for later this month.
