Urban development reports

We produce reports on indicators of housing and business demand and supply as well as larger assessments of regional capacity.

This section contains annual Urban Development monitoring reports and 3-yearly Housing and Business Assessments for the Nelson Main Urban Area.

Richmond and surroundings have been classified by Government as a medium growth area, together with Nelson. Because of this, the councils work closely together to enable sufficient housing and business land capacity in what is called the "Nelson Main Urban Area".

One requirement is quarterly monitoring of a large number of indicators of housing and business demand and supply. Another requirement is a 3-yearly housing and business capacity assessment to demonstrate that Council is enabling an adequate supply of such land.
