Stock droves or crossings registration form

In some cases when you are moving stock, you need to register it with us first.

In line with the Stock Control and Droving Bylaw (pdf 309 KB), all droves or crossings must be registered with the Council, in writing, five working days prior to the activity.

This is required if the movement is:

  • along or across a road within any urban or residential area (as defined in the Tasman Resource Management Plan); or
  • along or across a State Highway; or
  • over a distance greater than 5 kilometres; or
  • for milking purposes during the hours of darkness.

Please complete this form to register your activity.

Please note: If the stock movement is regular or reoccurring the drover or person in charge of stock only needs to register once for the ongoing activity, unless circumstances change.

This is the person who will be in charge of the stock when they are being moved.
