The Tasman Climate Action Plan is our response to the urgent need to take action on climate change, to build climate resilience and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Council adopted the first climate action plan in 2019.

We have recently reviewed this plan and developed a comprehensive draft Tasman Climate Response Strategy and Action Plan, to guide our efforts to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change. The draft budgets included within the Action Plan part of the document show where the Council proposes to invest in climate action over the next 10 years.

Progress updates with plan implementation

Council staff provide brief quarterly updates and detailed annual reports of progress on the Action Plan.

Progress is reported in 'Climate Change Update' reports to the Strategy and Policy Committee.
