For urgent or emergency issues you can contact the Council 24 hours a day on 03 543 8400, or via your local Council Service Centre number. 

Service centres

On ANZAC Day, Thursday 25 April, all service centres and libraries will be closed for the day. Usual opening hours apply otherwise. 

eBuses

The eBuses on Routes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be running, but on a reduced timetable. Routes 5 and 6 will not run on a public holiday. For all regional bus service information visit ebus.nz(external link) select the holidays tab to see the schedules.

Rubbish and recycling

There are no changes to the rubbish and recycling collections. You can download a copy of the recycling calendar here. (pdf 2.1 MB) 

All our Resource Recovery Centres are only closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Opening hours vary for each centre, you can find them here.
