The chapters in this section cover the purpose, scope, structure, and effect of the Plan. Descriptions of the meaning of words used in the Plan, to the District’s Resource Management Issues, and the monitoring, and review procedures are covered.

Part II deals with land use and subdivision, including land that is the bed of any river, stream or lake.

Part III deals with the occupation and disturbance of the foreshore, seabed and sea.

Part V deals with the taking, using, diverting and damming of water, including the management of water quality.

Part IV deals with the activities carried out in the beds of rivers and lakes and on the surface of the water.

Part VI applies to all discharges of contaminants to the environment.
