Our forestry managers at PF Olsen would like to inform everyone that the Tunnicliff Forest, Wai-Iti will be closed for clearfell harvesting until the start of November. This period of closure will include both earthworks and harvesting operations and will involve the entire forest area.
Clear felling is the most common type of harvesting in New Zealand and involves cutting down an entire stand of trees. Trees are extracted using methods suited to the land, access, forest size and the surrounding environment.
