Changing plans: amendments and variations

You can make changes once you have your consent, but this may affect the timeline of your project. Any changes must still comply with the Building Code.

There are two ways we handle changes:

  • Minor variations -  a change which does not deviate significantly from the approved plans and specifications.
  • Amendments - bigger changes or additions to a project.

It is our job to make sure that the building consent plans accurately match what is built on-site.

You can make changes before you start building, or after, but this may affect your project timelines and costs.
