Richmond future transport needs

The Richmond Transport Programme Business Case (PBC) was adopted in 2022 and looks at Richmond's transport needs over the next 30 years.

On Tuesday 24 May 2022 the Waka Kotahi Board approved and endorsed the Richmond Transport Programme Business Case (PBC).

Council staff are working together with Waka Kotahi to initiate State Highway projects. Our own programme of works, including the cycling network and new public transport services, is already underway.

Background

We are working with Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency on a business case to address Richmond transport needs over the next 30 years.

Our focus is on making Richmond a safer and more reliable place to travel around by offering everyone improved transport choices, whether you are driving, walking, cycling or taking a bus.

To do this we are using a business case approach to ensure we develop solutions that deliver the right outcomes. We are calling this project the Richmond Programme Business Case (PBC).

The PBC covers State Highways which are administered by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, and local roads which are administered by Tasman District Council.
